We have just had the fantastic news that we have been selected once again to go into the CAMRA Good Beer Guide 2017. It’s hailed as a Beer drinker’s bible letting it’s readers know where all the best pubs in the UK reside and what they have to offer.

We are so pleased to have been selected for the CAMRA Good Beer Guide 2017 as we feel there is such a growth on small Independent Pubs and seeing as we’re not in a town centre or on a high street we hope it will make us easier to be found. Especially for anyone wanting to relax in the historic ambiance of The Brit with a lovely pint of Real Ale.

We had another very successful Real Ale & Cider Festival back in June. We went for a British theme with it being the Queens 90th birthday and sourced a selection of 10 Ales & 6 Ciders from around the UK, we wanted to go the extra mile and bring our customers something different so travelled to pick up a few up going as far as Shrewsbury to collect Lemon Dream from the Salopian brewery and we drove to Arundel in West Sussex to pick up Sussex Gold. We also managed to get a Scottish Ale all the way from The Caledonian brewery in Edinburgh. We had score cards so as our customers could rate what was on offer and although we had gone further afield to source different tastes the winning ale was Pirate Bay from Cold Black Label in Bridgend and the winning cider was Treehugger by Afal Y Graig based here in Cwmavon. Which was no great surprise as they did win a gold medal at the Welsh Perry & Cider Championships. We had nearly sold out by the end of the first day it was so popular.
